They say Las Vegas, Nevada is the entertainment capital of the world. And with its over-the-top hotels, clubs, restaurants and other entertainments it’s hard to dispute that claim. All that Vegas high profile flash and, no doubt, barrels of cash are attracting some of the world’s finest chefs. Joseph visit Las Vegas and takes the opportunity to check out a few of the dining and wining options. Believe it or not Vegas has a natural side and numerous ways for you to experience it. There’s kayaking on the Colorado River, house boating on and scuba diving in Lake Mead, exploring Death Valley National Park, hiking Red Rock canyon and mountain biking in Bootleg Canyon near Boulder City. 45-minutes from Las Vegas stands Hoover Dam — a National Historic Landmark and one America’s Seven Modern Civil Engineering Wonders. There’s a plaque at the dam dedicated to the 96 men who died building it. The dedication, written by sculptor Oskar J.W. Hansen, reads” “They died to make the desert bloom.” I wonder if they ever dreamed what the water and power they harnessed would blossom. It’s good to remember them and their brothers when you’re being bathed in Las Vegas’ neon lights.
